Why Become a member?

If you believe that money is controlling politics and we need to lessen the impact of money on our political system, then you belong in NYCCE.  Our goal is to level the playing field so any candidate whose ideas are worthy of support can run for office and not have to spend his/her time raising campaign funds to run for office. 

If you believe that monied supporters get more access to office holders and candidates than constituents, then you belong in NYCCE.  Our goal is to take the power of money out of politics and allow candidates and office holders to support those programs, laws, and ideas which are also supported by their constituents and not just by lobbying groups, industries, unions, or other monied interests.   

If you believe that office holders should be able to vote their principles and beliefs and to follow the wishes of their constituents, then you belong in NYCCE.  Our goal is to allow office holders to vote their conscience and to follow the wishes of their constituents rather than always be worrying whether their vote will be acceptable to those monied interests that fund their campaigns.

As a member of NYCCE, you will receive notification of meetings, updates on activities, and the value of knowing you are helping to support a better way of funding elections.  Our group is working to pass legislation pending in the Legislature and designed to change the way we fund elections in our State.
