EVENTS AND MEETINGS

Meetings

The Woodstock chapter usually meets at 7:00 PM on the 1st Thursday of each month or when a meeting is called by the Executive Committee or the President. Our meetings are usually held at the Woodstock Community Center on Rock City Road in Woodstock.

Please verify meeting dates by calling (845) 339-6019 or (518) 678-3516, or email:  imiller1@hvc.rr.com.

Directions to the Woodstock Community Center: From Route 28 take Route 375 to Route 212 and turn left (east). Just before the Woodstock Green, turn right on Rock City Road (if coming from the west on Route 212, turn left onto Rock City Road). Go about 1/8 mile to The Woodstock Community Center, a church-like structure on the  right with a large parking area  in front of it. Alternate Location for meetings is the Woodstock Town Hall. Continue on Route 212 past the Woodstock Green. About 1/4 mile on your right is the Town Hall---just before the Firehouse. We only meet in the Town Hall if the Community Center is having another event.

Following our October Meeting, those assembled traveled to the Ulster County Office Building to attend a meeting of the Ulster County Legislature.  At that meeting, they were joined by other supporters of Clean Elections who lobbied the Legislature to pass a resolution in support of Clean Money/Clean Elections.  That Resolution (#292) was passed unanimously. (Text of Resolution in MS Word) (Text of Resolution as PDF File).  Following the meeting, a Press Release was issued from NYCCE concerning its passage (Text of Press Release).

At our September meeting (9/1/05), NYCCE sponsored a workshop to learn the difference between DREs and optical scanners and what you can do to help protect your vote.  It was presented by Bo Lipari, Director of New Yorkers for Verified Voting. Click here to learn more about protecting your vote.

We also encourage each reader to write letters to their County Election Commissioners and/or their County Legislators, urging them to adopt a specific type of Voting Machine.  Go to the The County Campaigning page of the Web Site of New Yorkers for Verified Voting to find ways you can take action now!
